On Sunday April 26th RCS members joined with the West Country Britian-Australian Society for a Commemorative Anzac Service at St John’s church at Sutton Veny where they remembered Australians  and New Zealanders who gave their lives during and after the First World War.  A wreath was laid on behalf of the branch by  Captain John Ledgister, trustee  and  the outgoing  Bishop The Right Reverend Dr Andrew Rumsey responsible for the Wiltshire parts of the Diocese of Salisbury gave a moving  address to a packed church which included  veterans of several conflicts and representatives from the High Commission in London and Commonwealth War Graves Commission .

The service was preceded by an excellent lunch at the officers’ mess at Warminster which was attended by around 30 members of various organisations. After the service and the laying of wreaths members of the congregation joined together at a splendid tea in the village hall next door to the church.
