Thanks goes out to Sarah Collin, Performance Sport Officer and Stephen Baddeley Director of Sport at the Sports Village part of the University of Bath campus for providing the RCS in Bath with the opportunity on October 8th of looking around their facilities and meeting some of the Commonwealth athletes who took part in the recent Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Around 50 attended the event including local members and a large group of students from Bath Spa University. The evening provided an insight into the organisation of the Games as well as finding out more about the hard work and dedication of the competitors. It was an honour and privilege to meet some of the athletes who explained how they trained for the event and ways in which they had bonded with others from around Commonwealth. There was also a chance to see their medals and talk with them afterwards. It was a fabulous event and a chance to meet some amazing and inspiring youngsters. Also present at the event was the Deputy Mayor of Bath,Councillor Onkar Saini.
