
Over two hundred people came together on Sunday March 13th to celebrate at the annual Commonwealth Service in Bath Abbey. Conducted by Stephen Girling, the congregation was joined by two Deputy Lord Lieutenants of Somerset, and the Mayor of Bath, Councillor June Player.
Commonwealth students took part in the service together the members of the Bath and District Branch of the Royal Commonwealth Society. Also present were representatives of the West Country branch of the Britain-Austria Society , the Royal Society of Saint George, the Royal African Society from Bristol and both Bath universities. The Commonwealth Affirmations were also read out during the service which was then followed by the prize giving of the Bi-Annual RCS Bath and District Art Competition ‘Hope and Humanity’ at the 44AD Art Space.
