This unique service will remember and celebrate the lives of twelve individuals from around the Commonwealth who showed great fortitude and courage in times of conflict.
In attendance will be the new Lord Lieutenant of Somerset Mohammed Sadiq and his Worshipful the Mayor of Bath Rob Appleby together with Bath and Somerset based schools, senior military and service personnel, relatives of the individuals, RCS members, civic officials and associated organisations.
The event will also include contributions from the Military Wives Choir

The Royal Commonwealth Society, Bath and District Branch (RCS Bath) is collaborating with 44AD artspace and local primary schools to also produce an exhibition honouring World War II “Heroes of the Commonwealth”.
Local schools have been invited to ‘adopt’ one of these twelve heroes to research, with the aim of creating a collaborative piece of art which represents and celebrates their chosen hero.
Heroes of the Commonwealth will culminate in an art exhibition by participating schools, to be held at the 44AD artspace on and around 11th November 2022, as part of Remembrance Sunday commemorations.
Bath Abbey will hold a commemorative service especially for those involved with the project / schools and the heroes’ families.
