On 4th February the branch hosted an online student forum for all members of the society. The event, which took place via zoom was hosted by Alan Howe and was a great success. During the COVID pandemic, it has obviously been much harder for many international students to socialise and network and so this forum provided a fantastic platform to do so virtually. Students from both the University of Bath and Bath Spa University were in attendance. All attendees (which totalled 25 at one point in the evening!) were able to listen to the backgrounds of each of the students, discuss their topics of study and learn more about their culture and personal interests.
It was just brilliant to witness the networking of so many people, from all different backgrounds. All in all, the success of the event, will certainly be followed by others of this kind. We also look forward to times ahead where this virtual network can physically meet once again and enjoy many more social events together.
