Around 30 students and Bath and District Royal Commonwealth Society members met together at the Widcombe Social Club on November 20tto hear a fascinating presentation from John Strachan Pro-Vice Chancellor of Bath Spa University and Rebecca McGuire – Snieckus, Chair of the Global Citizenship programme. The talk was on the very successful GALA Project which brings together a community of colleges and universities around the world supporting and enhancing international mobility within various faculties, students and staff in the area of liberal arts. William, a student who has benefitted from the programme also gave a short talk on his involvement in the project. Several Commonwealth universities including the University of Witwatersound in South Africa and Concordia University in Canada are included in the programme. Afterwards students had the chance to talk further with staff, global citizenship students and the Pro Vice Chancellor. It is hoped that this meeting will further relationships with the RCS and various departments at the universities involved the project.
